Blackstone Farm-breds The Critical Way and Dance Code collected three combined Iroquois Awards, the top honors for Pennyslyvania-bred thoroughbreds. Blackstone Farm was officially awarded as the Keystone State´s top breeder in two categories.

Broodmare Wrong Color topped the Fasig-Tipton April Digital Select Sale, which closed Tuesday. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, Agent II as hip 4, the stakes-placed earner of $122,838 was picked up by Anglo Saxon Bloodstock for $400,000.
Full Brother to Tom´s Ready Makes Grade in Japan

Given a perfectly rationed ride from the front by the evergreen Yutaka Take, Jean Gros (More Than Ready) became the first winner at group level in Japan for his legendary sire in Saturday's $841,637 G2 New Zealand Trophy at Nakayama, a steppingstone to next month's G1 NHK Mile Cup at Tokyo Racecourse.
Jean Gros is a full brother to multiple graded stakes winner Tom´s Ready, the all time leading Blackstone Farm-bred earner at $1,036,267.
Blackstone Farm-Breds Up For 10 Iroquois Awards

Five Blackstone Farm-bred runners are among the finalists for a 2021 Iroquois Award, the Pennsylvania equivalent of an Eclipse Award.
The quintent has been nominated for a total of 10 trophies, headed by 2021 graded stakes winner The Critical Way, who is a finalist for four awards, including Horse of the Year. Detroit Tesoro, an earner of over $700,000, was a 3-time winner in Japan last season and could walk way with a trio of Iroquois Awards.

Jean Gros became the 214th worldwide black-type winner, and first in Japan, for his legendary sire More Than Ready with a spectacular performance in the February 27 $333,992 Listed Marguerite S. at Hanshin Racecourse.
The 6-5 favorite was away alertly, but was checked hard off heels prior to the entry to the turn, perhaps having caused his own problems. The full-brother to multiple graded stakes winner & Grade 1-placed Tom's Ready ($1,036,267), soon recovered from that bit of trouble and traveled strongly on the turn before easing off heels and into the four path on the swing for home.
Blackstone Farm Shines at Fasig-Tipton February

Owner/breeder Christian Black has enjoyed plenty of success in the sales ring over the past six months thanks to leading freshman sire Gun Runner. The principal of Blackstone Farm sold a colt by that Horse of the Year for $550,000 at Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga sale.
Black traded two mares in foal to Gun Runner on February 9, selling one for $330,000 to Gracie Bloodstock (hip 369) and one for $205,000 to Imaginary Stable and Glen Ellis (hip 377).
