Nice Ace Rolls to First Stakes Victory in Hard Spun S.

Blackstone Farm-bred Nice Ace broke sharply in the $100,000 Hard Spun Stakes under Pablo Morales and never looked back, rolling to a 5 1/2-length victory in the Tuesday feature at Presque Isle Downs

 

The 4-year-old gelding by the Frankel full brother Noble Mission (GB) showed immediate promise at 2 with a sharp second-out victory followed by a close runner-up finish in the $100,000 Fitz Dizon Jr. Memorial Stakes.

 

He´s has been remarkably consistent over the subsequent two seasons on the and he´s now run first or second in 12 of his 17 starts, bankrolling $228,641 for owner Robert Bone and trainer Tim Girten.

 

Nice Ace earned a career-best 104 Equibase Speed Rating for the Hard Spun and easily defeated 2-time defending Hard Spun champ Wait For It.

 

Nice Ace is the second romping Blackstone Farm-bred Stakes winner at Presque Isle in the past eight days after Rose For Debra dominated the $100,000 Malvern Rose Stakes on July 22. Blackstone Farm-breds have now won 43 races and won or placed in six blacktype events.
